Coaching
Working With a Human Coach
Connect with a real human coach inside Aithlo, message them directly, and let them help shape your training alongside the AI.
Aithlo isn't only an AI coach. You can also be coached by a real person inside the app: find a coach, send a request, exchange messages, and decide together how much of the planning is AI-driven.
Active relationships and pending requests
The coaching area shows your relationships grouped by role, so it's always clear who coaches you and (if you also coach) who you coach. Requests you've sent or received sit in a separate pending list until they're answered, and active relationships appear once both sides agree.
Find and request a coach
Search for a coach by username and send them a request. They can accept or decline, and either side can end the relationship later. When a relationship is formed, Aithlo checks your tier, because being coached requires you to be on Pro or higher (see Subscription and tiers).
1:1 messaging
Each relationship has its own direct message thread between you and your coach. Threads include read receipts so you can see when a message has been seen, and unread counts flag new messages waiting for you. To give useful guidance, your coach can also view your training data — your activities, plan, and progress — so their advice is grounded in what you've actually done.
AI coaching mode
For each athlete relationship there's an AI coaching mode toggle that sets how planning happens:
- Coach-led — the AI automatically plans and adapts your training. Good when you want a hands-off plan that your coach oversees.
- Self-led — you (or your coach) drive planning manually. Good when you'd rather build and tweak sessions by hand.
You can switch modes as your needs change. For how manual edits and AI adaptation work day to day, see Adapting your plan.
What you need
To be coached by a human, your account must be Pro or higher. This is enforced when the relationship is formed, so make sure you're on an eligible tier before you send a request.
If you'd like to coach other athletes instead of (or as well as) being coached, that's a separate capability with its own requirements — see Coaching athletes.
