Availability and Gating

The AI coach is one of Aithlo's Pro+ features. This article explains exactly what free and Pro+ accounts can do so there are no surprises.

Who can send messages#

Sending messages to the AI coach is a Pro+ feature, meaning Pro, Ultimate, and Ultimate+ tiers. On those tiers the chat works fully: you can ask questions, get answers grounded in your data, and have the coach act on your plan.

During your one-time 14-day Pro trial, a free account behaves as Pro, so you can try the coach in full before deciding.

What free accounts get#

Free accounts are read-only in the coach chat:

• You can open and read your chat history.
• You cannot send new messages. The message box is locked behind an upgrade prompt instead.

This is enforced in two places. The app shows the upgrade prompt where the composer would be, and the server also refuses free sends, so the gating holds no matter how you reach it.

What Pro+ unlocks#

Upgrading to Pro or higher unlocks the full coach experience:

• Send messages and hold a real conversation with the coach.
• Get answers grounded in your activity and plan history, with inline charts and tables.
• Have the coach add, edit, remove, or swap sessions and build or adapt full plans, as covered in Coach actions on your plan.

Plan adaptation, Stretch Buddy, and recovery insights are Pro+ too, so they come along with the same upgrade.

Choosing a tier#

The difference between tiers is scope and usage, never AI model quality. To compare what each tier includes and pick the right one, see Choosing your plan.

Remember: tier never changes the quality of the AI, only what features you can use and how much. Ultimate+ is identical to Ultimate but with triple the AI budget.
