Onboarding

A conversational, AI-led setup that learns your goals, sports and schedule one question at a time — and can build your first plan.

Instead of a long form, Aithlo sets you up with a friendly, AI-led conversation. It asks one question at a time, saves as it goes, and ends with a clear summary of your athlete profile — plus, if you want, your first training plan.

Choose your approach

First you decide how you want to work with Aithlo:

  • Coach-led — Aithlo plans for you. Onboarding goes deeper, and a first plan is generated at the end.
  • Self-led — you plan manually. Onboarding collects only the essentials and skips the auto-generated plan.

This choice shapes how thorough the interview is, and you can change it later.

Up front you'll give AI consent and can optionally connect Strava. Linking Strava early lets the coach ground its questions in your real training history, so the interview feels tailored rather than generic. Connecting is optional — you can always do it later.

Pick your pricing

You'll choose a tier during setup, but there's no pressure: everyone starts on a 14-day Pro trial, so a free account behaves as Pro for two weeks. See choosing your plan for how the tiers compare.

The streaming interview

The heart of onboarding is a streaming AI interview that asks one question at a time and saves your answers as it goes. It works through:

  • your goals and what motivates you,
  • your sports and current fitness level,
  • your equipment (turbo trainer, power meter, pool access, and so on),
  • your weekly schedule and availability,
  • any injuries or limitations the coach must respect,
  • your target races,
  • and baseline metrics like FTP, best 5K or CSS.

The interview adapts its depth to your approach — thorough for coach-led, lighter for self-led — and wraps up gracefully rather than dragging on. It's also resumable: progress is tracked step by step, so you can leave and return exactly where you stopped.

A separate AI allowance

Onboarding has its own usage allowance and is not billed against your normal AI budget. Setting yourself up never eats into your day-to-day coach chat or plan generation.

Your summary and first plan

At the end, the coach writes a summary of your athlete profile so you can confirm everything looks right. In coach-led mode, it then builds your first training plan inline before you finish.
