Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how the Aithlo website at www.aithlo.com uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work, remember your choices, and tell the site owner how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, are used in the same way.
We use two groups of cookies: strictly necessary cookies, which are always on, and analytics cookies, which are only used if you agree.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to things you do, such as saving your cookie choices, choosing a language, or signing in to our content management system.
• cc_cookie — remembers your cookie consent choices so we don’t ask on every visit. Set by our consent tool. Duration: 6 months.
• Language preference — remembers whether you view the site in English or French. Duration: up to 12 months.
• Theme preference — remembers light or dark mode. Stored locally on your device.
• payload-token — only set for Aithlo staff who sign in to the content management system; never set for ordinary visitors. Duration: session.
4. Analytics cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are most popular — so we can improve it. No analytics cookies are set, and no data is sent to Google, until you accept analytics in the cookie banner.
• _ga — distinguishes individual visitors. Duration: 2 years.
• _ga_SHJXQB5NB4 — used by Google Analytics 4 to keep session and campaign state. Duration: 2 years.
• _gid — distinguishes visitors, where used. Duration: 24 hours.
We use Google Consent Mode and IP-address redaction, so Google receives no analytics data until you consent. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
5. Managing your preferences
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although the site may not work properly without strictly necessary cookies.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
